New Sustainability Training on Integrating Health and Safety Reporting Launched by the International SOS Foundation

10 August 2020 ,  London

The International SOS Foundation has launched a new virtual training course, providing the understanding necessary to integrate workforce health & safety management and monitoring into an organisation’s sustainability strategies. The course, "Sustainability Management & Reporting for the Occupational Health & Safety Practitioner", will be facilitated by Louis Wustemann, writer and editor on environment and health & safety for over 20 years, and former editor of Health & Safety at Work and IOSH Magazine. Participants will receive a CPD accredited certificate upon successful completion.

There are currently three courses available, each taking place over two half days: Europe - Africa Track (Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 September), Americas – Europe Track (Tuesday 22 and Thursday 24 September) and Asia – Australia Track (Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 October).

Kai Boschmann, Director of the International SOS Foundation commented, “The relevance of occupational health and safety to business sustainability has become increasingly recognised, accelerated, in part, by the COVID-19 pandemic. OH&S practitioners are being called on more frequently to provide reporting measures and design strategies that impact the core of ongoing business success. The course is designed around this growing need, to support practitioners in identifying robust reporting measures that are appropriate for their work environment and often required by their governing boards.”

Attendees will benefit from:

  • An understanding of the role of OHS in sustainability and build strategies to achieve organisational goals.
  • Tools to report OHS initiatives in alignment with international standards.
  • Learn the language of sustainability reporting that can be used across your organisation.
  • Active participation with small groups of up to 12 international participants and opportunity to enhance a sustainability network.

The training is designed for OHS and sustainability practitioners, particularly those who are tasked with investigating the place of occupational health and safety in sustainability management & reporting programmes or tasked with better inclusion of workforce measures in corporate responsibility management. HR, security, and mobility managers who are responsible to protect the health and safety of their employees will also be able to better align their programmes with their organisations' sustainability strategies.
